US-based location services provider deCarta has launched a new white-label navigation application in Australia, allowing its customers to add turn-by-turn route guidance to their location service offerings.

deCarta NavigationÔ is built on deCarta’s Drill Down Server location platform and integrates with MapSearchÔ local search, maps and third party application programme interfaces (APIs).

The solution stores map data allowing frequent map updates and integration with dynamic content, and is available on Blackberry, Android and many Java ME platforms.

Its MapSearch feature allows it to navigate to a local search result, and the solution includes integration API’s, which allow third party developers to incorporate navigation as a core feature of any application.

deCarta has signed deals with two companies, Sensis and Optus, to enable them to offer sophisticated services for web and mobile consumers.

Telstra subsidiary Sensis has selected deCarta’s geospatial software platform to provide maps and directions for Sensis online and mobile applications.

SingTel Group subsidiary Optus has chosen deCarta’s Traffic Manager technology to power the traffic functionality in Trafficview, a mobile real-time traffic information service recently launched by the carrier.
