UK-based technology Group OMG said its Yotta DCL division, the highways surveyor, has won a major new asset inventory contract with Nottinghamshire County Council in the UK.

Yotta will carry out a comprehensive video survey of the entire road network during the course of the year, extracting a range of asset inventory items with its video survey vehicles.

Video surveys capture street level images at normal traffic speeds and the imagery will support data currently held in the authority’s highway asset management system (HAMS).

OMG said the contract will assist the council in managing its assets and provide efficient inventory data in areas where current data coverage needs to be improved.

Detailed inventory datasets, which will be extracted from the images, will be geo-referenced before sending to the council for storing.

The contract also includes hosting image data collected via the annual SCANNER survey that Yotta DCL currently undertakes for the council.
