The General Department of Traffic in Dubai has installed 84 cameras and radars at signals and intersections in a bid to check traffic violations in the emirate.

New radars are expected to detect violations including speeding, wanted vehicles and wrong surpassing of vehicles.

The cameras were also installed at pedestrian signals to help catch drivers who do not allow the pedestrians to cross the road.

The police have so far fixed the cameras in Jumeirah and Al Wasl roads, and more devices will be installed soon.
