Mobile parking payment services company EasyPark has partnered with Microsoft to introduce a Windows version of its parking payments app in Sweden.

The new EasyParks app allows Windows Phone users to quickly and conveniently pay for parking, while ensuring that payments are made only for the time vehicles are parked.

EasyPark Sweden CEO Anders Bäck said that a parking app for Windows Phones has been very much in demand.

"This will make it easier for many who use the car, and you’ll get rid of coins and slow card dispensers," Bäck said.

"The new EasyParks app allows Windows Phone users to quickly and conveniently pay for parking, while ensuring that payments are made only for the time vehicles are parked."

Customers can pay by credit card by registering their account in the new app. The latest version also features a GPS function in order to help users locate the area code.

During the first quarter of 2013, EasyPark reported that its app for mobile parking payment grew rapidly, with the number of mobile parking payments up 113%, compared to the first quarter of 2012.

According to EasyPark, the number of Windows mobile users is gradually increasing in the Nordic market, which makes the latest app an important part of the company’s deal.

The new app will eventually be released in Denmark, Norway, Finland, Italy, Austria, Spain, Australia and Germany.

Founded in 2001, EasyPark offers mobile payment services to improve the parking experience for motorists, cities and parking operators.

EasyPark has 85 employees operating from offices in Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland and Germany.
