Efkon, an Austria-based provider of intelligent transportation systems and electronic toll collection services, has secured a major order to provide on-board modules for Germany’s truck tolling system.

The company received a follow-up order from the German government for the delivery of on-board modules for the country’s satellite-based truck tolling system.

An on-board unit is a device that is installed on a vehicle to ensure the automatic payment of toll charges in an electronic toll collection system.

Efkon is one of the main suppliers for the German truck tolling system, one of the largest traffic telematic projects in the world.

All of the company’s tolling systems are developed at its headquarters in Graz / Raaba in Austria.
