American automaker Ford Motor Company has partnered with energy management company Schneider Electric to provide a new electric vehicle charging solution for homes and establishments in Europe.

The Schneider Electric EVLINK electric vehicle charging station will be available in all European markets where Ford’s all-electric and plug-in electric cars are on sale.

With the help of the new charging station, battery electric vehicle (BEV) and plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV), including Ford’s forthcoming Focus Electric, can be able fully charged in nearly three hours.

Ford of Europe Sustainability, Environment and Safety Engineering vice president Andreas Ostendorf said that the companies together will be able to provide drivers and fleet operators with a flexible and efficient solution to charge their vehicles and help drive a seamless and fully-optimised, zero-emissions experience.

The electric vehicle charging station, which complies with both Ford and European safety standards, will provide an optional standard installation, regionally-tailored technical support, full native-language and a five-year warranty.

Schneider Electric UK EV Charging Solutions national business development manager David Greaves said the partnership will offer simple, efficient and sustainable EV charging solutions to every Ford customer.

"The partnership will enable customers of Focus Electric to purchase electricity from certified green energy partners."

Ford of Europe is engaged in producing, selling and servicing Ford brand vehicles in 51 individual markets, and has close to 66,000 employees.
