Chinese highway company Jiangxi Ganyue Expressway Co has partnered with iSoftStone Holdings, an IT services provider, to develop a smart transportation system for the Jiangxi Province in China.

The new smart transportation system will include a data centre, five internal control management systems, five operation management systems, and internal and external web portals.

It will help Jiangxi Ganyue Expressway improve competitiveness by building business innovation, enhancing system architecture, improving efficiency, and lowering operation costs.

iSoftStone executive vice president Huang Li said that Jiangxi is currently experiencing high rates of urbanisation, and an increasing population, standing at more than 40 million people.

"The new smart transportation system will include a data centre, five internal control management systems, five operation management systems, and internal and external web portals."

"Streaming the province’s transportation system is imperative to ease pressure on the road network."

"We will endeavour to assist Ganyue Expressway with our most-advanced technology and know-how for their IT infrastructure development programme to help Jiangxi form a smarter transportation system," Li added.

Jiangxi Ganyue Expressway chairman HuangZheng said: "We believe the opportunities and experiences afforded by this programme are immense for both Ganyue Expressway and iSoftStone."

Jiangxi Ganyue Expressway Co, founded in 1998, is the only listed highway company in Jiangxi Province, and is primarily engaged in the operation of expressways and large scale engineering construction projects in China.

iSoftStone offers consultation and technical support for government-led construction and smart city development programmes.
