MacKay Meters and Streetline have entered into a partnership to provide a fully-integrated smart parking package.

The latest collaboration combines MacKay single and multi-space meters with Streetline’s sensing technology and ‘smart city’ applications.

MacKay Meters Sales vice president James MacKay said that the new MacKay and Streetline solution allows cities to offer consumers guidance and convenience without the risk of integrating untested products from different companies.

"This partnership is yet another example of how MacKay continues to innovate and provide customers with turn-key smart parking solutions that build on the reliability customers have come to expect from MacKay," he added.

"The latest collaboration combines MacKay single and multi-space meters with Streetline’s sensing technology and ‘smart city’ applications."

The MacKay Guardian SOLO, the first MacKay single-space meter to offer solar-power recharge, credit card payment and wireless remote monitoring, will be fully integrated with the sensing technology and smart parking applications from Streetline.

Currently in use in over 30 locations in both the US and Europe, Streetline’s patented smart parking platform detects the presence of a car with the help of a network of ultra-low power wireless sensors deployed in individual parking spaces.

Data from these sensors will then be made available in real time through a variety of cloud-based applications, such as ParkSight for analytics and reporting, Parker for consumer guidance and ParkerMap.

MacKay Meters and Streetline, headquartered in Foster City, California, are already working together in cities such as San Mateo in the state.
