Sweden-based car park operator Q-Park has signed an agreement with Seamless, a provider of payment solutions for mobile phones, to simplify the parking payment process for its customers.

The new deal allows Q-Park users to pay for parking through Seamless’s SEQR mobile app at selected car parks in the Stockholm area.

According to Seamless, SEQR enables quick and easy parking payments, and users can extend the parking time directly through a smartphone, without the need to return to the car park.

Seamless president and CEO Peter Fredell said that enabling users to pay for parking with SEQR is a vital step in the company’s efforts to promote mobile payments.

"The new deal allows Q-Park users to pay for parking through Seamless’s SEQR mobile app at selected car parks in the Stockholm area."

"The collaboration with Q-Park is also proof that our solution is extremely easy to use in almost any payment situation, from physical stores and public transport to e-commerce and parking," Fredell added.

In order to make payments, customers use the SEQR app on their smartphones to scan the QR code at the POS terminal, and then approve the transaction by entering their PIN.

SEQR users must set up a free account and then receive an invoice at the end of the month. Customers also receive a digital receipt in the phone immediately after every purchase.

Q-Park operates close to 300,000 parking spaces in Sweden, while Seamless handles over 3.1 billion transactions each year through 525,000 active sales outlets.
