ROK LPR

ROK Homeland Security (RHS), a mobile phone-based technology development company, has launched ROK LPR, a hand-held Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) system.

Designed for use in Android mobile devices, the new ROK LPR system is a fast, reliable and accurate ANPR technology, the company said.

The application is available either as stand-alone technology or as an integrated part of the RHS law enforcement mobile application system.

It can be used in a hand-held overt manner or can be mounted in a vehicle, and also from a fixed position with tripod and telephoto lens.

ROK Homeland Security CEO Paolo Fidanza said that the ANPR systems are effective in all types of policing and security activities but require high set-up and operating costs.

"Designed for use in Android mobile devices, the new ROK LPR system is a fast, reliable and accurate ANPR technology."-

"We have developed ROK LPR, with a target acquisition time of just one second to be a highly cost-effective enhancement to existing ANPR systems," he said.

"Interest in ROK LPR has already been considerable as it effectively places ANPR in the hand of every police officer whose mobile phone is equipped with the service which, particularly when operated in conjunction with our RHS service, becomes an incredibly powerful policing asset," Fidanza added.

ROK Homeland Security provides real-time, secure technologies, and supports law enforcement officers in the gathering and management of data in a number of formats including encrypted data-based communications and improved spatial awareness capabilities.
