Spanish technology company Sociedad Ibérica de Construcciones Eléctricas (SICE) has secured a contract from TRAGSA for upgrading automatic incident detection system (AID) and surveillance cameras at five tunnels in La Palma Island, Spain.

Currently, TRAGSA maintains all the five tunnels in La Palma Island.

Under the deal, SICE will be responsible for migrating the existing CCTV and AID systems at two control centres, including the tunnel of the Summit and tunnels of external track and Bajamar from analogue to digital technology through IP network.

In addition, the technology company will be engaged in deploying a centralised DAI system at the La Cumbre tunnel in order to convert signals from the existing analogue cameras to the IP network.

"Under the deal, SICE will be responsible for migrating the existing CCTV and AID systems at two control centres."

SICE will also install AID servers, AID analytics, and the video server for 26 cameras for La Cumbre tunnel.

At the Via Exterior and Bajamar tunnels control centre, the company will be replacing the 15 DAI analogue cameras with IP models equipped with built-in DAI analytics and installing an AID server, as well as the video server for 22 cameras.

The project scope includes replacement of seven outdoor analogue DOMO cameras with high-resolution DOMO IP models.

Upgrade of AID and CCTV system in both control centers is expected to improve surveillance, maintenance, security and operation of the electronic infrastructure.
