StarTraq, a provider of road traffic enforcement software, has won a competitive tender from North Yorkshire Police (NYP) for the provision of a safety camera back-office service, in order to process the increased number of traffic violations in the region in a more efficient way.

Under the contract, StarTraq will provide the Dynamic Offence Management and Enforcement (Dome) solution, which will automate several processes, while minimising the probability of human error.

The system will also considerably reduce manual and administrative activities, which will allow NYP’s enforcement officers to spend more time on actual enforcing.

StarTraq sales account manager Chris Hennebry said that the Dome accepts a multitude of data input mechanisms, allowing NYP to process all road traffic offences, including those captured on video clips.

"StarTraq will provide the Dynamic Offence Management and Enforcement (Dome) solution, which will automate several processes, while minimising the probability of human error."

"This and the Dome’s seamless integration with the Police National Computer and PentiP will significantly reduce the time it takes NYP to successfully process a single offence," Hennebry said.

With the help of the Dome reporting module, NYP will be able to retrieve extensive details of its Central Ticket Office performance within any given time frame, either for statistical and reporting reasons or for resource and procurement planning.

The latest deal is the second major contract for StarTraq in less than two months.

In January 2013, the company was awarded a competitive tender to deliver a road traffic offence management and enforcement system across the three police forces – Bedfordshire Police, Cambridgeshire Constabulary and Hertfordshire Constabulary, in the UK.

StarTraq currently has contracts in place with about half of the forces across England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
