Electric car manufacturer Tesla Motors has selected Orange Business Services to provide wireless connectivity for its Tesla Model S vehicles in France.

A division of telecommunications operator Orange, the company will incorporate its high-quality mobile connectivity features in Tesla’s fleet, which includes mobile networks and SIM cards to provide interactive navigation, internet radio and web browsing services.

With Orange’s technology deployed in its cars, Tesla will be able to provide its customers with seamless remote diagnostics and latest updates of M2M software.

Tesla worldwide sales and service vice-president Jerome Guillen said: "An excellent customer experience is paramount and we know this is possible through the quality of the Orange mobile network and the company’s constant pursuit of innovation."

The services offered by Orange Business Services are part of its Smart Cities & Territories programme, which was launched in 2011 to provide drivers with access to infotainment and navigation services.
