VITRONIC TollChecker

German machine vision solution provider Vitronic will launch its new tolling system, TollChecker, and a speed and red light enforcement system at Intertraffic 2012 in Amsterdam, Netherlands, this March.

The next generation of their tolling system is a multilane free-flow tolling installation which fulfils the interoperability requirements of European Electronic Toll Service (EETS).

The company noted that the compact and light weight system will be able to reliably detect, identify and classify all kinds of vehicles. France’s ‘Ecotaxe’ project will be the first to deploy the system from Vitronic on the national roads.

Vitronic will also unveil its PoliScanspeed and PoliScanredlight systems, which will be used for speed and red light enforcement.

Based on LIDAR (light detection and ranging) technology, the system captures up to three times more violators than conventional systems, without the assistance of any in-road equipment.

It is also effective in curves or areas where road-work has been undertaken and it also ensures easy monitoring of multiple vehicles on multiple lanes, simultaneously.
