The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) will deploy US-based Intuicom’s BroadbandPro Enterprise Management Software across the state in an effort to centralise management of municipality-based traffic servers and TACTICS central traffic management software.

Intuicom supplies wireless solutions to the intelligent transportation systems (ITS) market.

The deployment of the new system will be undertaken by the Intuicom’s authorised re-seller, Western Systems, as part of the overall wireless communications initiative underway with MDT.

"Leveraging BroadbandPro Enterprise Management Software’s capabilities with Siemen’s TACTICS brings a new level of connectivity to the Montana Department of Transportation."

The agency has been using Intuicom’s wireless Broad Band Solutions for some time now.

Western Systems territory manager Kevin Hanson said: "Leveraging BroadbandPro Enterprise Management Software’s capabilities with Siemen’s TACTICS brings a new level of connectivity to the Montana Department of Transportation.

"MDT will now have the ability to configure and deploy their intersections quicker, they can check the quality and strength of any signal, remotely.

"That is a huge advantage that Intuicom delivers with their management software."

The transceivers from Intuicom form a wireless infrastructure for transportation departments in several larger municipalities in Montana, including Billings, Missoula, Great Falls, and Helena.
