Vantage Pegasus

Intelligent information solutions provider Iteris has introduced new wireless broadband communications systems, Vantage Pegasus, to address the growing needs of transportation system communications networks.

The new systems are an an addition to the Iteris Vantage range of video detection equipment.

They give agencies the ability to safely connect remote intersections to a centralised monitoring and management location, while eliminating the need for high-cost fiber optic cable installation.

The US-built Vantage Pegasus wireless systems feature carrier grade radio components that provide the high bandwidth communications required for remote viewing of live video from the intersections.

The video transmitted through Vantage Pegasus can be from a video detection unit or a CCTV surveillance camera.

"It offers easy installation for necessary live video at a fraction of the cost of fiber."

Iteris’ Vantage Pegasus offers flexible installation options, along with multiple radio choices in both single and dual radio configurations as well as supports multiple frequency bands.

Iteris Roadway Sensors sales and marketing vice-president Bill Sowell said: "It offers easy installation for necessary live video at a fraction of the cost of fiber, which will provide agencies with immediate detection verification, streaming video, and reduced maintenance costs through remote connectivity and troubleshooting."

Vantage Pegasus is now available through Iteris’ worldwide network of exclusive full-service distributors.
