Trafficware, a US-based technology company that designs and develops electronic equipment and enterprise software to support the transportation industry, has released a new variant of Central Management Systems called Version 2.6.

The company claims that its new version of central management systems features new functionality such as new subscription-based parking detection module.

It is reported to be the only traffic management system with this capability.

"Trafficware’s ATMS.now system is used by many transportation authorities to support their communities’ transportation networks."

The new parking detection module is equipped with Trafficware’s patented wireless pod detection system, which enables transportation agencies to combine the vehicle detection data into their central traffic management command center.

Trafficware CEO Jon Newhard said: “Trafficware distinguishes itself by delivering consistently paced and relevant innovation.

"We take pride in having the ATMS.now central traffic management technology to be the central hub of advanced capabilities.

“Since communities are quickly moving to deploy Smart Cities technology, requiring a vast assortment of capabilities like adaptive signal technology, high-resolution data or connected vehicle intersections, we want Trafficware to be the obvious choice for leading agencies because of our rich functionality, central integration and technical leadership as evidenced by additional capabilities in the cloud.”

Trafficware’s ATMS.now system is used by many transportation authorities to support their communities’ transportation networks.

Its equipment is deployed at more than 20,000 intersections globally.

The company released the Connected Vehicle module in ATMS.now version 2.5 in July last year, and it has deployed more than 1,000 intersections and has seen major automotive companies introduce 2017 models with vehicle to infrastructure connectivity.
