On Friday 3 May, FLIR Intelligent Transportation Systems NV, the former Traficon International NV, inaugurated its new office building in Marke, Kortrijk, Belgium. With the inauguration ceremony, FLIR Intelligent Transportation Systems also seized the opportunity to celebrate its new identity under the FLIR Systems flag.
In the presence of employees, suppliers, partners and press, Vice President and General Manager of FLIR Intelligent Transportation Systems, Lode Caenepeel stressed the smooth collaboration between the former Traficon and the new parent company:
"Coworkers from both sides of the Atlantic have had the opportunity to learn from each other over the past few months, and the integration of the former Traficon into FLIR Systems is now at full speed. What’s more, FLIR Intelligent Transportation Systems has been able to establish a very good first quarter, which has been greatly appreciated at the FLIR headquarters."
In his opening speech, Vincent Van Quickenborne, mayor of Kortrijk, referred to the many international successes of Traficon. He also praised the intellectual capital of the company: "Well trained, educated and entrepreneurial people have always been the basis of this company. They are also part of our region’s DNA."
Traficon International NV was acquired by US‐based company FLIR Systems Inc. in December 2012. With the integration of Traficon into FLIR, the latter aims at achieving further growth in the traffic market.
Under the identity of FLIR Intelligent Transportation Systems, as Traficon is known today, the company is able to offer the most advanced solutions for traffic video detection and monitoring, both with thermal imaging technology and traditional video imaging technology.
The complete new address of FLIR Intelligent Transportation Systems NV is Hospitaalweg 1B, 8510 Marke, Belgium.
