Kiel – The renowned town of Sables d’Olonne on the French Atlantic coast already provides its residents and its many visitors with the option to park their cars in one of four chargeable car parks. In order to optimise and first of all centralise the utilisation of all current and future car parks, the old operating systems will soon be replaced by DESIGNA’s successful PM ABACUS system.
In addition, in April, Vincipark and DESIGNA will begin work on a new installation in the heart of the town – a parking management system for the new ‘Centre Ville’ car park with more than 1,000 parking spaces.
At the same time, three new surface car parks will be equipped with the PM ABACUS system and connected to the server of the ‘centre ville’ car park, which will also act as the control system for the other eight car parks of the town.
“Centrally controlled from the new car park, the PM ABACUS system makes it possible to network all other car parks with one another,” explains sales manager Patrick Moretton of DESIGNA France. “By upgrading the existing systems with our SQL server-based PM ABACUS technology, our French partners of Vincipark are now better able to control, secure and optimise all of their facilities,” continues Moretton.
In detail, the central main system operates, controls and administers 10 entrance control terminals, twelve exit control terminals and ten automatic pay stations with the help of one single data base server in real-time. The new software application WINOPERATE offers Vincipark the possibility to supervise and administer its car parks.
The new system is completed by a manual pay system and coding unit for calculating parking fees and creating and coding different types of ticket (Multiparc season parker card, Multiparc value cheque, event ticket, congress ticket, hotel ticket etc.).
This new and progressive technology of PM ABACUS, based on software and network standards, makes it possible to network further car parks in the future and allows Vincipark to easily modify and upgrade its systems.
