Sodi Scientifica in cooperation with Tyco Fire & Security Asia is proud to announce the completion of the installation works inside the KPL tunnel in Singapore
The 12-km Kallang/Paya Lebar Expressway (KPE) will stretch from the East Coast Parkway (ECP) in the south to the Tampines Expressway (TPE) in the North East. The expressway includes about 9km of tunnel, which will be the longest underground expressway in South East Asia. KPE is to be a dual-carriageway expressway with three lanes in each direction and eight interchanges. Physical works on the KPE started in 2001 and is targeted to complete in 2008.
The Autovelox 105Se units installed will be monitoring the speed in the 9km of Tunnel express way automatically collecting the data and forwarding it to the central station for further processing. Transmission inside the tunnel will be through fiber optics cables, ensuring a real time control of the infractions. Units will be fully remotely controlled, drastically reducing human intervention on site.
Units will be working 24/7 and collecting information about transiting vehicles such as, speed, length of vehicle, lane occupancy and obviously time and date, pictures will be taken of vehicles speeding in one of the three lanes.
With this installation Sodi Scientifica reinforces its position as market leader for tunnel installations world wide.
