SLIM_LED4 – Lighting System for Pedestrian Crossings

The idea of implementing a new solution is based on the unsatisfactory lighting of pedestrian crossings in the Czech Republic, but also in the neighbouring states of the former Eastern Bloc.

The basic principles of the so-called positive contrast, in other words, lighting the object that one is supposed to see, are completely absent in the currently used lighting systems. Instead, the lighting is aimed at pedestrian's heads from above; little else is done.

This is also caused by the fact that so far, there was no lighting system on the market that would allow for the pedestrians to be illuminated from the side, that is, from the point of view of the driver of the oncoming vehicle, without dazzling the drivers in the opposite direction.
