China-based Sinohydro has completed the $57.2m project of upgrading the Assela-Dodola section of road, 220km south of Ethiopia’s capital, Addis Ababa.

The project involves upgrading 116km of road to a two-lane asphalt highway, which runs from the town of Assela to Dodola.

Sinohydro has completed the project in four years, working with consulting firm Saba Engineering and a Finnish company, according to Xinhua.

Assela-Dodola junction is part of the Nazareth-Assela-Dodola and Shashemene-Goba road.
