UK-based engineering and software design service company, SEA has launched the next-generation of relocatable traffic enforcement camera technology.

Designed to improve congestion and to increase pedestrian safety, the ROADflow Motion cameras are expected to enforce box junctions, bus lanes, banned turns and school keep-clears.

Claimed to be more advanced than their predecessors, the newly launched cameras incorporate ‘all weather, all the time’ camera technology, and a new type of automatic numberplate recognition (ANPR) engine.

In addition to ANPR licence plate recognition, the camera also features tamperproof video evidence capture, encrypted secure evidence upload, 3G/4G communications, remote management, and Intel i7 processors.

"These cameras build on SEA’s heritage of providing innovative and capable civil and criminal traffic enforcement solutions."

SEA managing director Steve Hill said: "These cameras build on SEA’s heritage of providing innovative and capable civil and criminal traffic enforcement solutions.

"This technology will allow cities and metropolitan authorities to hugely improve their traffic enforcement and management capabilities, which are needed to keep traffic moving, whilst also acting to vitally improve driver and pedestrian safety too."

Leveraging the system’s new sophisticated 3D analytics technology, the new generation of cameras can capture multiple vehicle contraventions simultaneously, monitoring traffic 24/7 in any condition, regardless of weather.

The ability to capture multiple-vehicle contraventions simultaneously also enables the camera to efficiently enforce the totality of a congested road or junction.

To date, SEA has sold 250 cameras worldwide and the product has international applicability for any region where traffic offences of this kind are caused.

According to the company, the ROADflow cameras have so far been used in the London Borough of Enfield, whilst additional beneficiaries are likely to include local authorities and Transport for London.
