Infrastructure company Ashoka Buildcon has won road projects worth Rs4.02bn ($58.4m) in Jharkhand, India.

The scope of the project includes construction and rehabilitation of the Govindpur-Tundi-Giridih road and the Dumka-Hansidha road in the state.

Under the terms of the deal, Ashoka Buildcon will also carry out the development of double lanes with paved shoulders of the two roads.

"The company had bid for the projects floated by State Highways Authority of Jharkhand."

Press Trust of India (PTI) reported Ashoka Buildcon as stating in a BSE filing: "The company had bid for the projects floated by State Highways Authority of Jharkhand."

The infrastructure firm has received letters of acceptance (LoA) from the State Highways Authority of Jharkhand for the two road projects.

These projects will be funded by Asian Development Bank.

Ashoka Buildcon constructs, manages and operates roads and bridges in India on a build, operate and transfer (BOT) basis.

At present, the infrastructure company is operating one of the highest numbers of toll-based BOT projects in India, Live Mint reported.

In 2013, a joint venture (JV) comprising Ashoka Buildcon and GVR Infra Project won the Rs9.85bn ($161.27m) road contract in Tamil Nadu, Indian.
