Kista, Sweden, 5th April 2006: TagMaster, world-wide manufacturer and marketer of RFID based identification systems in the 2.45GHz range, launches a completely new generation of long-range RFID systems to the parking industry, within the area of Automatic Vehicle Identification (AVI).
Parking operators all over the world already benefit from TagMaster’s vast experience in the field of RFID solutions for automatic vehicle identification. TagMaster’s range of ID-tags and readers enable vehicles to access parking facilities quickly and efficiently. To ensure that the company maintains its leading position and expertise in this area, TagMaster continuously invests in research and development. This has led to the launch of the new generation of readers, which incorporate the latest cutting edge technology.
This new generation of long-range readers has a brand new exterior developed together with industrial designer Avalon to provide a clean and modern design, reflecting its Scandinavian roots. The readers offer several innovative features making them easier to install and integrate into parking systems. An open source Linux platform has been selected for this new generation of readers, making them easier to modify to suit individual parking applications. By incorporating features such as Ethernet connectivity and web based management tools, the readers support the latest developments in system design now being introduced in the industry. The new generation is fully backwards compatible and can be installed in existing installations. The TagMaster system provides parking and vehicle access system operators with a superior AVI solution to improve their efficiency and profitability.
“We have collaborated with an industrial designer to develop a clean, modern design for the readers, we have also focused
on creating new features for better functionality. The new readers have the lowest output in the market as well as the longest range and can be connected to a camera, external memory or modem with a USB cable. The new design also makes it easier for service technicians to reach the electronics,” says Magnus Rehn, TagMaster President.
LR-3, LR-6 AND LR-12
The new generation will contain three models, the LR-3, LR-6 and LR-12 readers. The number indicates the range of the reader, for example the LR-3 provides a read-range of up to three meters. The readers operate in the 2.45GHz frequency band, which is license free and approved throughout the world. The design of the reader also features an IP65 enclosure, which means the readers are fully protected from the weather and do not need any extra protection when installed outside.
Examples of installations that can benefit from the TagMaster system include commercial and corporate parking areas, gated communities, university parking, airports and hospitals.
