With the reorganisation of Ireland’s Shannon Airport, DESIGNA Verkehrsleittechnik has been contracted by the Dublin Airport Authority (DAA) for the second time to install and commission a complete parking management system.
Alongside Dublin, Shannon is one of Ireland’s most important airports. With this €750,000-plus contract, the parking management specialist has successfully expanded its market position and proven its international competitiveness.
“Our team has been on-site since September and the system is expected to be operational by the end of November,” explains DESIGNA’s sales director, Stefan Koch. “This project places considerable demands on integration and networking. For this reason, DAA again decided to choose our successful PM ABACUS system for this large project.”
The overall facility incorporates parking for coaches, 800 spaces for airport employees and 4,000 short and long-stay parking spaces for tourists and business travellers, the numbers of which are increasing every year. Ryanair is Shannon Airport’s largest client, with around 60% of passengers travelling with the airline. The trend is continuing to grow.
The PM ABACUS system is a reliable and innovative partner for Shannon Airport during this expansion. This is because, with the use of internationally recognised hard and software standards, its transparent interface design and almost unlimited scalability, DESIGNA has developed a system that is able to rise to complex and ever greater challenges.
