For the first time, highly robust pay and display parking machines will be set the challenge of operating daily in some of the most remote and weather exposed regions of the UK.
The Forestry Commission Scotland has placed an order with Metric Parking for 52 Aura pay and display parking machines for the Highlands and Islands.
Swindon-based Metric Parking has won a competitive tender to supply a mix of mains and solar powered Auras further north than these machines have ever operated before.
The machines, which will be able to accept coins and cards, will be installed over a wide area during the next few weeks.
