Metric Parking is continuing to roll out their popular Elite pay and display machines in the South West by winning tenders from three neighbouring local authorities.
They are Bristol City Council, who have ordered Elites for on-street resident parking schemes in the Redcliffe and Cotham areas of the city, North Somerset Council who will be installing Elites for on-street parking in Weston-super-Mare, and Bath and North East Somerset Council who will be putting Elite machines into Bath and Keynsham to control off-street parking.
Metric will be delivering the Bristol order in two stages, starting with 50 for a new controlled parking zone in the city followed by a larger rollout to complete the project. All coin-operated machines will have an alpha numeric keypad for vehicle registration entry and will be networked through the Metric ASLAN Web Back Office system.
The machines being installed in Weston-super-Mare for North Somerset Council will be coin only and are for a new on-street charging scheme. The machines will be fully networked and hosted by Metric on their powerful web back office system, web ASLAN.
The Elite machines destined for Bath and Keynsham will be a mix of coin and credit card, in both solar and mains powered options. The new machines, which are to replace Metric Autoslots (some of which are 22 years old) are state of the art and fully networked with Metric hosting the Web back office.
Bath Cricket Club, whose car park is in the city centre, are also replacing their Autoslots with two Elites, one of which will enable payment by credit card as well as coins.
