The year is ending on a high note for the UK’s only parking machine manufacturer. It’s the icing on the cake for Metric Group Ltd who, in the face of strong competition, has been awarded a large order by Dundee City Council.
Dundee, famous for its cake of the same name, has placed an order for a total of 111 Elite machines with the vast majority supplied with chip and pin capabilities.
Dundee plan to install 35 of the Elites in the city centre before Christmas. Installation of the remainder will be phased over the coming weeks.
Said Damian Devanney, who recently joined Metric’s sales team to represent their interests north of the border: "Dundee is a long-established Metric customer and I am delighted that this significant order has been placed so early on in my Metric career.
"The machines will provide the City Council with cutting edge technology and provide the people of Dundee with wider payment choices. The back office system provides the operators with many tools to help them improve the management of their stock and make efficiencies to their service going forward."
He added that the new Elites, which will be linked to Metric webaslan back office system, are to replace ageing machines that have served the city well. The old Metric Autoslot machines have been in the ground for more than 25 years and have stood the test of time.
The Elite machines have also been specified with a full alpha numeric keypad to enable vehicle registration details to be tagged with each payment.
