If Nessie makes another appearance above the surface of Loch Ness she is in for a surprise… awaiting her will be a ticket for parking.
For the ticket will be issued from a new pay-and-display parking machine sited in the main tourist village of Drumnadrochit.
Metric Parking has supplied an Aura Elite to replace one of their older machines, which was installed in the village 15 years ago.
The Elite has coins and chip and pin credit card acceptance as the Loch Ness Harbour Company upgrades its parking machine, which serves car parking for lake visitors.
"The chip and pin credit card acceptance will make it easier for customers to use the ticket machine," said Audrey Hogan of Caley Cruisers, who operate motor cruisers for charter on Loch Ness.
The parking tariff is £10 for an overnight stay and a six hour daytime ticket costs £5.
