On 28 May, SICE and ConnectEast signed an agreement for the development, delivery and maintenance of a new tolling back office system, SICE Billing and Invoicing System (BIS). The signing of this agreement is a significant milestone for ConnectEast and SICE and has come about through months of hard work and preparation.
SICE BIS, which shall replace ConnectEast’s current commercial tolling back office system developed under SAP, has been developed based on requirements and specifications within the EastLink concession deed, as well as the interoperability framework defined in the Australian Tollroad Operators’s memorandum of understanding (MoU).
The SICE BIS will not only provide the full functionality of ConnectEast’s current system, but it will also provide numerous improvements and will streamline ConnectEast’s operations, resulting in cost savings. Furthermore, SICE BIS is built with multi-concession capabilities, which shall provide ConnectEast the ability to manage further toll roads in the future if required.
This contract demonstrates SICE’s long-term commitment in the Australian market and its focus on forging long-lasting relationships with its customers and partners. It is also recognition of the quality and reliability of the products and services that SICE has provided over the years. In addition, the award comes from an existing operator of a successful motorway, who is well-informed of what is required to operate and of what the market has to offer.
When in operation, SICE BIS shall manage an average of one million transactions daily.
