SICE has been awarded the contract to deliver the ITS system for the I-75 Express segment E in Miami. Segment E represents one of five design-build projects that together extend from NW 170th Street in Miami-Dade County to I-595 in Broward County.
This is SICE’s fifth ITS remarkable project in Florida. ITS systems for I-75 Segment E, reversible lanes on the I-595 express, SCADA and traffic control system for the Port Of Miami Tunnel, the ITS systems on the SR23 and the dynamic pricing for the I-595 tolling express lanes, confirm SICE as one of the key systems integrators in the Florida market.
The scope of the project awarded to SICE includes the design and delivery of the ITS systems for Segment E of the I-75 Express Lanes Project, which extends from north of the South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD) C-11 Canal Bridge (north of Griffin Road) milepost 8.344 to I-595 for approximately 4.7 miles.
Segment E of the I-75 Express Lanes Project currently has several different traffic monitoring devices operational within the limits, which has to be maintained upgraded to meet the FDOT requirements. The existing segment will be upgraded with 15 new CCTV Cameras, five freeway DMS, eight lane status DMS, 30 MVD HD. The project will be completed within 24 months.
