The South Jersey Transportation Authority (SJTA) has awarded Transdyn a contract to provide an upgrade to the Central Monitoring and Control software used by SJTA to cost-effectively manage traffic and operations for the Atlantic City Brigantine Connector (ACBC) Tunnel.
Transdyn’s DYNAC traffic management software will modernize tunnel operations, improve incident management, track and maintain field resources, enable efficient sharing of traffic data with other regional agencies, and disseminate traffic related info to motorists.
DYNAC ES will serve as the standardized platform for integrating the various tunnel monitoring and control systems currently used by SJTA. From a single HMI interface, control room personnel will manage ITS devices such as CCTV, Dynamic Message Signs (DMS), Vehicle Incident Detectors (VIDS), Tunnel Over Height Detection (OHD), Tunnel Lane Control Signs (LCS) and monitoring of the tunnel Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition System (SCADA) System.
The South Jersey Transportation Authority is a public authority established by the Legislature in 1991 to provide the traveling public with safe and efficient transportation through the acquisition, construction, maintenance, operation and support of various transportation assets in southern New Jersey including Atlantic, Camden, Cape May, Cumberland, Gloucester and Salem counties.
The SJTA owns the Atlantic City International Airport and operates the Atlantic City Expressway. The Authority is legislatively responsible for the movement of Casino Bus Traffic within the City of Atlantic City.
