Vinci subsidiary Eurovia has been awarded a CZK3.2bn ($141m) design-build contract.

The scope of the contract includes the construction of a 14.7km-long section between Èasy and Ostrov on the D35 motorway located in the east-west corridor of Czech Republic.

Construction on the project is expected to start in August 2018 and is scheduled for completion in 2023.

Eurovia will implement the project along with its joint venture partners Metrostav and Swietelsky Stavební.

Leasing and property management company Nakheel has awarded a AED447m ($112m) contract to Wade Adams for the construction of a 12-lane bridge to link Deira Islands with Dubai in the UAE.

The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) will supervise the construction of the 600m-long bridge.

The new bridge is scheduled for completion in the first half of 2020.

Dubai RTA intends to enhance the connectivity to the man-made Deira Islands through the bridge.

Black & Veatch has secured a contract from Electrify America for the development of high-powered DC Fast Chargers.

DC Fast Chargers are part of a project that is intended to minimise the time required for charging of electric vehicles (EVs) and improve the convenience for the customers.

The fast chargers will provide enough energy for travelling a distance of 20 miles (32.18km), within a minute.

Balfour Beatty has secured a contract from Leeds City Council for the construction of the initial two phases of the East Leeds Orbital Road (ELOR) project.

The contract includes refurbishment of the existing Leeds Outer Ring Road junctions. It further includes the design of the main ELOR, which is a part of the larger East Leeds Extension (ELE) programme.

Construction on the project is expected to start in the second half of 2018 for scheduled completion by the end of 2019.

TomTom intends to provide parking information to users in collaboration with ParkWhiz, allowing customers to find available parking spaces across North America.

The partnership allows TomTom to access ParkWhiz’s public parking facilities information database.

Data will be linked with TomTom’s maps to help users identify vacant parking spaces.

The end-to-end parking service also enables the users to reserve, view and pay their parking fee easily.
