Russia-based Mostotrest has won a $530m contract from Russian Highways Company to rebuild the Businovskaya traffic overpass system in northern Moscow, Russia.

The contract involves construction and improvement of flyovers, overpasses and exit roads with a total length of 14.5km.

The project includes the construction and rebuilding of a 1.61km segment of the ten-lane highway, two two-lane highway flyovers, three overpasses, including a railway overpass, and six exit roads spanning 9.19km with flyovers of 3.5km.

Upon completion, the interchange will be part of the Moscow-St Petersburg Highway.

The existing system was built in the mid-1990s and the expansion of the interchange is required to minimise traffic congestion.
The project is expected to be completed by 30 September 2014.
