Veidekke has won a NOK425m ($75m) contract from the Norwegian Public Roads Administration to build the second phase of Gulli-Langåker stretch of E18 highway project in Norway.

The contract involves expansing the E18 from two lanes to four between the Holmene-Tassebekk section in central Vestfold.

The projects will be built under three separate contracts, which will be the construction of a 24km of new road, a pedestrian and cycle path along Raveien.

The current two-lane road is to be upgraded to new northward lanes, while two new lanes for southward traffic will be built to the west of the current road.

Contract involves all work including asphalt and marking, electrical/MRM work (management, regulation and monitoring) and local noise measures.

The project will be carried out in cooperation with Veidekke’s subsidiary Trafikk & Anlegg, will start by the year 2012 and is scheduled to be complete by October 2014.
