India-based SenRa has partnered with sensor systems provider PNI Sensor to deliver smart parking solutions to India.

The partnership will combine LoRaWAN technology, connectivity and an end-to-end smart parking solution.

It will deliver smart parking solutions with PNI’s IoT-enabled PlacePod smart parking sensor to ensure quicker enactment in the Indian market.

PNI’s PlacePod with its magnetic sensor system for vehicle detection will accurately detect the presence or absence of a car in a parking space.

“SenRa’s LoRaWAN network and PlacePod parking sensors will deliver key aspects of parking management and unauthorised parking such as accurate real-time vehicle detection.”

In India, parking is essential for the development plans considering the growing number of vehicles, which stands at an annual rate of 9%-11% over the next five years.

SenRa’s LoRaWAN network and PlacePod parking sensors will deliver key aspects of parking management and unauthorised parking such as accurate real-time vehicle detection and location of available parking spaces with data validation and real-time tracking.

SenRa stated that the company has successfully completed tests with the PlacePod parking sensor. It can be easily mounted in the ground and is unaffected by adverse weather conditions.

The LoRaWAN-enabled PlacePod parking sensor has a long battery life. It will enable smart cities, residential areas, universities, parking authorities and city planners to use SenRa’s long-range, low-power commercial grade network.

SenRa CEO Ali Hosseini said: “We were looking for a partner who can bring high-quality LoRaWAN parking sensors that can handle extreme weather conditions. We found that with PNI.

“PNI is one of the first companies in the LoRaWAN ecosystem to deploy smart parking solutions across the globe.”
