The Publicity Department of the CPC Guiyang Committee has announced a new open collaboration camping programme that involves the participation of global autonomous driving engineers to make driverless cars in Guiyang in China.

As part of the ‘Move it Hackthon’ programme, about 30 global autonomous driving engineers and ten mentors from 12 countries will make and test two autonomous vehicles on roads within five days.

The engineers and mentors are from self-driving enterprises and universities.

Additionally, the programme launched an open smart factory called Czone and one global collaboration platform.

It is a global innovative open source community on autonomous driving and is dedicated to the development and manufacturing, as well as promotion of latest automobile technologies.

Said to be the community’s first offline activity, ‘Move it Hackathon’ aims to address common challenges facing autonomous driving by cooperation.

By sharing the solutions, innovation and application thresholds of driverless cars will be reduced and the technology’s use can be extended.

The activities covered in the programme include wire control technology transformation, algorithm debugging, automatic driving sample car installation and commissioning, mentor sharing.

In addition to implementing the line-controlled vehicle technology on the spot, the engineers will create the basic chassis of the line-controlled vehicle.

Tracking and obstacle avoidance can be achieved after installing and debugging the automatic driving system on a full-size car.

The last phase of the programme will involve installing and debugging the self-driving cars and then set for group competition.

The first ‘Move it’ global autonomous driving challenge was open for registration.
