US-based electric vehicle (EV) charging services provider CarCharging has been selected as the exclusive provider for the installation of EV charging stations in Saratoga Springs, New York State.

The company will initially introduce its charging services at one of the city’s new parking garages, located in Woodlawn Avenue.

The Woodlawn parking garage is the largest of three new parking facilities that are built in downtown Saratoga Springs, as well as the first new parking facility in nearly ten years.

"We are proud to work with municipalities in the state to provide EV charging services."

The garage provides access to Bank of America and Saratoga’s Community Federal Credit Union, and has the capacity to accommodate 454 parking spaces.

Saratoga Springs mayor Joanne Yepsen said: "Our city’s parking structures play an important role in facilitating commerce and recreation in our downtown area.

"I fully endorse the addition of CarCharging’s electric car charging stations and servicing EVs, and I look forward to working on new ways we can move our city toward an even more sustainable future."

CarCharging’s EV charging services use Level II EV charging stations that provide 240V with 32 amps of power enabling quick recharge of an electric vehicle’s battery.

EV drivers can also request an RFID card online at the company’s official website in order to initiate use and payment at the charging locations. The company’s EV charging stations also accept credit card direct payment.

CarCharging CEO Michael Farkas said: "We are proud to work with municipalities in the state to provide EV charging services.

"We look forward to working with Saratoga Springs, and expanding public charging infrastructure for EV drivers to recharge."
