Gayatri Projects has received Rs3.4bn ($51.1m) road contract in Nagaland, the north eastern state of India.

The contract has been awarded by the National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL) and the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH).

As per the terms of the contract, the Indian infrastructure company will have to carry out the four-laning of the existing Dimapur-Kohima road.

The project excludes Dimapur and Kohima bypass in Nagaland.

This will be carried out by the company on an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) basis under SARDP-NE. Package III.

Over the last year, the company’s order book has almost doubled to Rs100bn ($1.5bn) based on a strong flow of contracts, all of which were to be executed under the EPC basis.

This contract has been awarded as per the Union government’s aim to develop the North-East states.

Gayatri Projects has developed several highways, as well as executed a water supply project.

Last August, the company also secured contracts worth Rs33.18bn ($499.7m) from National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) in Varanasi.

It had also received order of Rs6.75bn ($101.6m) from NHAI for the six-laning of Eastern Peripheral Expressway in Haryana and Uttar Pradesh.
