UAE-based telecommunications operator Etisalat has introduced its mobile parking payment services in Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Sharjah.

The service is part of the company’s ongoing efforts to promote ‘smart government’ initiatives in the UAE, and will be launched across the country in the near future.

"Etisalat has simplified the process of mobile parking payments to meet the growing demand for the service, where customers can pay for parking by sending a text from their phone."

The service also delivers text notifications and reminders before the end of a parking session, enabling customers to save money.

"Innovation is an integral part of our customer-centric business approach as we constantly strive to provide better and convenient services," El Khouly said.

"The value of transactions and the number of user transactions have increased by more than 70% and 50% respectively in the first quarter of 2014, in comparison with the same period last year."
