The Autopass electronic toll collection system is used in Norway and allows automatic road toll collection from cars.

The system, which uses electronic radio transmitters and receivers operating at 5.8GHz, involves the installation of a DSRC-based radio transponder on the windscreen of a vehicle, and to sign an agreement with one of the country’s toll collection companies.

All projects using the system can only charge per car and all systems with Autopass also have manual payment methods.

A global products and solutions supplier of road user charging and advanced transportation management systems, Q-Free has offices in 18 countries worldwide.
