North American smart parking and mobility solutions provider ParkMobile has partnered with Google to enable its users to make parking payments from Google Maps.

With the inclusion of the new Google Maps feature, users will be able to navigate to their destination and quickly pay for parking at locations where ParkMobile is accepted.

The new Google Maps and ParkMobile collaboration will benefit Google Maps users as they will be able to quickly start a parking session using ParkMobile.

This expands ParkMobile’s work with Google, which launched in November following the introduction of the redesigned Google Pay app.

ParkMobile CEO Jon Ziglar said: “We are excited to expand our work with Google and bring ParkMobile’s vast inventory into Google Maps.

“We know people are constantly jumping between navigation and parking apps. This new feature enables users to navigate to their destination and then quickly pay for parking in one seamless experience.”

At present, ParkMobile’s integration with Google Pay has allowed users to pay for parking in more than 240 cities across the US.

Once the parking session has started, users can also extend the parking session from the Google Pay app without going back to the meter.

The new feature will initially be rolled out on Android-based devices and will soon be available on the iOS platform.

Google Maps product manager Vishal Dutta said: “We’re excited to work with ParkMobile to help drivers across the US pay for parking more quickly and conveniently right from Google Maps.

“Google Pay and Google Maps were able to seamlessly incorporate ParkMobile’s software, which helped us bring this feature to life.”
