TransCore, a US-based provider of transportation solutions, has completed the installation of 37.8 miles of all-electronic toll system equipment along the Houston area Grand Parkway in Texas.

The 188-mile Grand Parkway, State Highway 99 includes 11 segments and passes through seven counties.

Out of 11 segments, six segments have already been completed, and  transactions on the Grand Parkway have doubled since last year, as well as exceeded traffic and revenue forecasts.

The Fort Bend Grand Parkway Toll Road Authority and the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) appointed TransCore as their lead integrator for comprehensive toll collection systems.

As part of the contract, TransCore is responsible for design, implementation and maintainence of all toll collection systems for Grand Parkway, Fort Bend Tollway and the Westpark Tollway segments.

All toll collection systems are equipped with TransCore’s Infinity Digital Lane System, which features Encompass 6 readers that enable toll interoperability within the region, the Intelligent Vehicle Identification System for vehicle classification, and the Vehicle Capture and Recognition System to capture video images.
