Transfield Services, an Australian operations, maintenance and construction services provider, has won operations, maintenance and upgrade service contracts worth almost $154m in the US and New Zealand.

The California Department of Transportation in the US has selected Transfield for a 34-year contract to provide operations and maintenance services for Presidio Parkway project in San Francisco for a total value of $100m.

Transfield will deliver the services through Golden Link Concessionaire, a public-private partnership (PPP).

Two Northland District Councils in New Zealand have also awarded the company three contracts to provide maintenance and upgrade services for their road networks.

The first of the three five-year contracts includes renewal of the Far North District Council Eastern Area contract for five years for a value of NZ$41m ($33m).

The second NZ$20m ($16m) contract includes renewal of the Whangarei South contract, while the NZ$6m ($5m) third contract is aimed to upgrade Whangarei Central’s urban road network.

Transfield Services managing director and CEO Peter Goode said that the road contracts in two of its core international markets provide the company with secure long-term cash flow.

"They also demonstrate our geographic and operational diversity, and complement our strengthening presence in the growing North American and Australasian resource and energy markets," Goode added.
