Sensys Speed Safety System

Sensys Traffic, a Swedish developer and marketer of products for traffic safety and informatics, has received an order to supply speed and red-light enforcement systems from Sensys America, the company’s exclusive distributor in the US.

The new contract is a call-off order for Washington DC, and the delivery, partly from existing inventories, is expected to be made in the second quarter 2013.

Sensys Traffic CEO Johan Frilund said that the project in Washington DC is progressing at a rapid pace, enabling the company to contribute more quickly to improved traffic safety in the city.

In October 2012, Sensys America signed a framework agreement to deliver of traffic safety systems for speed and red-light enforcement to Washington DC.

The latest order, worth SEK11m ($1.69m), is the third suborder that the company has received within the framework of the agreement.

Sensys’ speed enforcement range includes fixed-speed enforcement and mobile speed enforcement systems.

Based on the RS240 multi-tracking radar, Sensys’ fixed-speed enforcement system, the Speed Safety System, has the capacity to track multiple vehicles simultaneously.

The company’s mobile speed enforcement system, the Mobile Speed Safety System, is non-intrusive and features radar, a processing and data storage unit, and a digital camera.

Red-light enforcement system, known as the Red Light Safety System, is capable of detecting a vehicle that passes the stop bar during a red light.

It also provides data for time, date, location, vehicle speed, speed limit, red-light time and grace time.

Sensys Traffic develops and markets a variety of systems for traffic informatics and traffic safety.
