Infrastructure firm Ventia has secured two contracts from Main Roads Western Australia (Main Roads WA) to deliver asset maintenance and infrastructure services across WA’s road network.

The contracts are set to generate total revenue of more than A$280m ($198.53m), which includes Ventia’s share of approximately A$190m ($135m).

As part of the first A$188m ($133.6m) contract, Ventia will offer planned and reactive maintenance of all Main Roads WA electrical assets, repair of damaged assets, various electrical upgrades, and related capital works in conjunction with Johnson Controls through Venture Smart.

The state-wide electrical infrastructure services contract is set to begin next month.

“The long-term benefits will be improved value for money, job creation, industry resilience and a skills legacy for Western Australia reflecting our track record of strong service delivery.”

Ventia’s A$95m ($67.36m) Pilbara Rural Network Contract (RNC) contract secured from Main Roads WA will commence in November and run for a period of five years.

Ventia CEO Mike Metcalfe said: “We are very proud to be awarded these contracts with Mains Roads WA, and to build on our long-standing relationship.

“We are committed to working with local and indigenous suppliers, contractors and employees. The long-term benefits will be improved value for money, job creation, industry resilience and a skills legacy for Western Australia reflecting our track record of strong service delivery.”

The company was set up in 2015 through the merger of Leighton Contractors Services, Thiess Services and Visionstream.

It was established by a joint investment partnership between CIMIC Group and funds managed by affiliates of Apollo Global Management.

Main Roads WA, formerly known as the Main Roads Department, operates as an agency of the Government of Western Australia. Operating under the Main Roads Act 1930 (WA), the agency implements the state’s policies on road access and main roads.
