CarCharging, a US-based provider of convenient electric vehicle (EV) charging services, has partnered with mobile retail service provider, DoubleBeam, to develop its proprietary mobile application.

The new mobile app will provide EV drivers with the ability to pay for their EV charging sessions directly from their smartphones, as well as enable drivers to manage their participation in CarCharging’s subscription plans.

CarCharging CEO Michael D. Farkas said that the company plans to provide EV drivers with the ability to manage charging at single-family homes, or dedicated parking spaces at apartments, condos, and workplaces, and tie them into its public EV charging through one universal app for a combined price.

For the new mobile app, CarCharging plans to use DoubleBeam’s white-labelled mobile wallet service, which allows users to pay for EV charging services electronically, which will streamline payment processing and lower fees.

"The new mobile app will provide EV drivers with the ability to pay for their EV charging sessions directly from their smartphones."

Users will be able to enter payment information for each operation, create an account and store payment information, or take part in one of CarCharging’s subscription plans.

These plans will integrate residential EV charging services, such as single-family homes, and dedicated multifamily and workplace parking spots, with public EV charging services.

CarCharging’s new mobile application will be available for iPhone, Android, Windows, and Blackberry phones.

Customers will also be able to continue to use CarCharging’s public charging locations on the ChargePoint network and find EV charging station sites with the help of the CarCharging map on the company’s website.
