Civil engineering and construction company Decmil Group has secured a contract with Atlas Iron for a major road project in the Pilbara, Western Australia.

The project is worth over $34m, and will see Decmil design and construct the Woodstock Marble Bar Road upgrade works as well as realignment to nearly 55km of road, including sealing works, floodways and intersection works.

The contract has been awarded to Decmil Group’s wholly-owned unit Decmil Australia.

Decmil CEO Scott Criddle said: "While market conditions within the resources sector remain challenging, the award of this contract adds to the group’s solid platform for the year ahead and strengthens our position in construction and civil sectors."

Decmil Australia expects to complete the project in May this year.
