RoadSafe Traffic Systems in the US has acquired A Cone Zone, a traffic management equipment and services provider located in California.

The financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.

Established in 2003, A Cone Zone operates as a full-service traffic control company serving all of Southern California.

The acquisition is aligned with RoadSafe’s expansion strategy along the West Coast and will help the company to further strengthen its footprint in California, one of the largest markets for traffic management in the country.

A Cone Zone founder and president Elaine Norland said: “We continuously strive to better serve our customers and invest in our workforce.

“With RoadSafe, we have found a partner that aligns with our priorities. Their focus on safety, execution and customer satisfaction complements our product offerings.”

RoadSafe will retain its current management team, with Norland leading the California operations.

RoadSafe CEO David Meirick said: “Having served the California market for nearly twenty years, partnering with A Cone Zone is a milestone for RoadSafe in our efforts to establish a more robust presence in California.

“A Cone Zone is a best-in-class provider in the region that has built a strong reputation for having a highly talented staff and delivering quality service.”

Headquartered in Chicago, RoadSafe Traffic Systems delivers traffic safety and pavement marking services in the US. The company was acquired by ORIX Capital Partners in 2016.

ORIX Capital Partners senior investment principal Omar Akbar said: “As RoadSafe continues to execute its consolidation strategy, the addition of A Cone Zone furthers its initiatives of expanding its utility service offering and geographic presence.”
